Reese Drives is the thirteenth episode of the third season of Malcolm in the Middle, which was broadcast on February 10, 2002.
Synopsis[]
Reese's first driving lesson takes a dangerous turn, while Francis haggles his way out of debt. Also, Craig lies to get Malcolm's help.
Jackie is impressed with Reese's driving skills and tells him how amazing he did. Reese gets out of the car and asks Jackie for a favour that when the other students ask her about what happened to tell them that Reese got under her bra not realizing this would be setting himself up for rape since she was kidnapped by him in a highjacked car. Immediately after saying that he is tackled to the ground by the police. Back at the house Hal says that he'll call their lawyer and have him meet them at the police precinct and Dewey, while watching Reese and the police on TV, begs for Reese to give the police a reason. He gets his wish after Reese resists and the police pepper spray him.

Trivia[]
- Bernard, the hamster in the orange ball that Dewey set free in the episode Health Scare, is seen again, rolling past Reese while he is lying on the ground being arrested by the police. This is the second time the hamster was seen in the background. The first time was in Poker.
- This episode premiered two days after "Big Fat Liar" premiered in theaters, also starring Frankie Muniz.
- This episode aired on the same day as the King of the Hill episode, "I'm with Cupid". Both episodes feature the song "In Too Deep" by Sum 41.
- The driving school training center was located at a parking lot near Ross Dress for less.[1]
- Reese was rear-ended here.[1]
- The police chase was shot on a short stretch of a highway-like road called Woodley Avenue that runs through the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. The same stretch of road was also used in Evacuation.[1]
Goofs[]
- Jackie drives on the street which is under full cloud. When she pulls over, the street (and the car) is in full sunshine. One of multiple instances of the weather on shots inside the car being different than shots filmed outside the car.
- The first shot of Reese driving on the freeway is in full sunshine with a dry road. Later shots are overcast, and when the cop car shows up, the road is wet.
- During the chase Reese drives into the obstacle course at the driving school with all windows closed, then reaches out of an open window to pat a deer on the face.
